It’s a shame that the first short film Scrooge adaptation with an original soundtrack is lost. But since the soundtrack recording is available, I listened to it and graded it as if it were an old-time radio play.
The cast was probably chosen for all-round acting ability, but they would have been fine as voice actors alone.
The problem here is that with just nine minutes to use, the beginning and end of the story are covered fairly well, but the ghostly visits are all described and summarized in just a minute or two.
It’s another case of an adaptation that is worth checking out for interest’s sake only because it takes so little time to do so. Please note that the YouTube of the recording below is incorrectly dated 1926, but other sources all agree this was a 1928 short film.
